Upgrade a laptop's processor and use a video card?

I've been a PC person forever and just now switched to a laptop for gaming and for college. Is it possible to upgrade processor speed and to put a video card into a laptop?

If so...I'm on a Dell Inspiron 9300 running Window's Vista, what kind of video card and processor are compatible with my laptop?|||Not really, most graphics cards are soldered onto the motherboard, and upgrading the processor will decrease your battery life because that laptop wasn't designed around that processor.

Possible? Yes

Practical? No.|||to upgrade precesser speed u wud need to get a new processer and a video card comes with ur comp already|||No iam sorry. The only thing upgradeable in a laptop is the RAM. Processors for laptops are hard to get and expensive, plus its almost impossible to install without being an expert on it. Same story with video cards. Laptops usualy dont have a video card but the graphics are intergrated..

Also, overclocking is extremely dangerous and very unwise. Stick to the stock speed of the processor. Heat is one thing laptops build up very fast, and even at 10% overclock it can be disastrous since they are just not made for it.

Good luck!|||You cannot upgrade the video card on a laptop. Upgrading the processor is sometimes possible, but very difficult and often not worth the effort.
