Best NVIDIA video card for gaming?

at the moment i have the GeForce 9600 GT

i'm going to get a new comptuer from dell Studio XPS 8100 - with the GeForce GTX 460

i play modern warefare 2, sims 2 (with best settings of graphics) and black ops and some other games.

is this the best video card for my needs?

also my 9600 vs the gtx 460 - which one is better?

i would appriciate other suggestions but only from NVIDIA. I also watch lots of videos etc.|||Firstly, the GTX 460 will wipe the floor with the 9600

Now to answer your original question, the best desktop GPU offered by Nvidia at the moment is the GTX 580, obviously it is quite expensive (cards start around $500USD).

The GTX 460 is a good middle of the range option. Assuming that's the 1GB version of the GTX 460, you should have no problems running those games at high settings at 1920x1080, though if you try running Black Ops at full settings, on full HD, that card might not cut it.

Upgrading to a GTX 470, or a Radeon HD 6870 might not be such a bad idea, and it will also help to make te computer a little more future-proof.|||A 350W PSU is not recommended for such a card, can't say what Dell is thinking when they put some of their computers together. If they're shipping a GTX 460 with a 350W PSU then I guess they think it'll work, but personally when you're approaching the 1 year mark, swap the PSU with a min. 550W PSU.

|||Gtx 460 is much much better compare to 9600GT. If you are looking for the best nvidia card for gaming I will recommend that you go to look for 2 GTX 260 O.C. and SLi it the performance is far better than GTX 295 eventually and cheaper in price. If you are looking for GTX 400 series i will not recommend you to use it compare to GTX 200 series due to the tempreture is too high.|||GTX460 is exponentially better than the outdated 9600, but for a few dollars more , you could get a monster GTX 470, which bests the 460 by a considerable margin. Do keep in mind that even for a 460 , you will need a PSU of at least 60 amps combined on the 12v rail, so you must get an sli certified PSU.|||the 460 would be considerably better than a 9800. ...Best card for pure Gaming??? the GTX 580 followed closely by the 480!!!|||YEA. GOOD DEAL. YOU WILL BE HAPPY WITH THE DELL.

the gtx 460 will play all your games on high settings with good fps.|||i also have the GeForce 9600M GT... it's great... no problems at all....

and i do alot of graphic works....|||go for the win and get a AMD Radeon 6870 ;)
