OK. I was thinking of buying a new video card but i wasnt sure if the one i have now is any good. It says in my computer that i have(and it says this twice if i go under MYCOMPUTE->MANAGE->DEVICEMANAGER->DISPLA… Intel(R)82915/GV/910GL Express Chipset Family How good(or bad) is this video card?
|||You just have integrated graphics (Intel GMA 900) that shares (or steals) memory from system RAM. It is very weak for gaming because it has no hardware vertex shader.
Some options:
Cheap= Geforce 9500GT or ATI HD4650
Better= Geforce 9600GT or ATI HD 4670
Great= Geforce 9800GT or ATI HD 4830 (would require power supply upgrade)|||I would probably go ahead and purchase a reasonably priced video card. The link below is for a review done by ExtremeTech on the "Intel® Graphics Media Accelerator 900" with an eye ttoward gaming. read what they say.
