Two Video Cards?

I just want to know whats the point of having 2 video cards? besides running two monitors. Does it improve game performance, and does it actually improve anything... The reason i ask this is i accidentally bought two of the same kind of video cards from ebay so i paid for them now i have two.... I was wondering if it would be beneficial to run both of them or just sell one of them. Do they need to be any special kind of video card to run two? They are both 256MB pci (not express) video cards... Same model, same brand. I got it so i can play games on my piece of crap computer.|||You can run two PCI Express cards, if they are the right type and you have the right type of motherboard, and yes it improves performance. But in your case you can only run one PCI graphics card at a time, so you should sell the second, or I guess keep it as a backup, but thats not really necessary.|||sell one of them. 1 off you only need 1|||normally, a pc can have a built-in video card. now purchasing another one makes the pc capable of having two video card. in your case, you got two saparate video cards.... unless you intend to build another pc, store it as a spare video card in case your installed video card malfunctions.... guess you have to sell it. but my suggestion would be to keep it as a spare....|||if they are pci express with SLI it will make game performance better.
