Is the radeon hd 5470 video card good for gaming?

I'm getting a laptop and i want to know if I should get the Radeon hd 5470 video card or another one. Can this video card run games like spore and civilization|||It's not the best card but can run games like Spore and Civ. I know Civ is actually a CPU intensive game.|||All current games should be playable in low-medium details. Demanding games, like Crysis, NFS Shift, or Modern Warfare ran on the HD 4570 for example only in low detail settings fluently. Less demanding games like Left 4 Dead should run in high detail settings.

It could probably run those games as they aren't very graphic intensive at all.|||It's a fairly weak video card.

(note: they don't have a 5470 for reference, but we can assume it's about 10-20% stronger. Still not a lot)

I run a 9600 GT, which is a pretty good card. It can run Oblivion and Modern Warfare 2 on full settings high resolution.

Never buy a laptop for gaming. It's just not worth the several extra hundred dollars.|||Heck, for Civilization, my 2600 HD Pro works.

But yeah, a 5470 HD is probably a pretty good card.

I'd recommend going for the highest number card that's in your price range -- whether it's Nvidia, or an ATI (Radeon, Xenon, or the like).|||it should do the job. i suggest doing gaming on a desktop though.
